Design Process

  • It helps solve the problem of the user needing to manually check their schedules to see whether they are free to watch a certain event at a particular time.

I saw an opportunity to make event selection more easier, fun and visually appealing to the user.

I believe this is important because watching sports is supposed to be a fun, entertaining process. It’s something a user might watch to relax and unwind.

If the user is watching games between a busy work day, it should be fast, easy and peaceful to the eyes in a way that breaks the monotony of daily work.

  • The solution creates a schedule of available games that the user is free to watch.

It shows any live games at the start followed by 2 upcoming games.

These events are shown as player/event cards which are flippable (tablet solution) to view more information about the event and rotatable as a 3D shape in a 2D space (television solution).

User Story

User is an international corporate professional with a busy daily routine. User wants to know when and where they can watch the olympic games. User wants to create a schedule which incorporates their activities alongwith olympic game times and shows games based on users availibilty and in local time.

How did the process lead to the solution?

The solution arose mainly from brainstorming ideas during the how might we statements in the process.
Upon wireframing, I explored many different layout options for what a calendar or schedule could look like.
While doing visual research I stumbled upon the concept of player cards which I felt was as interesting approach to make the event selection more interesting and aesthetic.
I created a lot of different iterations for what these cards could look like.
